the work…

What changes when people genuinely feel seen?

They stop defending long enough to listen. They ask before they disappear. The quiet person gets checked on. The hard thing gets said earlier. People make more sense to themselves… and to each other.

the belief underneath it all…

We can use the same words… and mean different things.

We are more alike than we realize. Most of us want to love well, lead well, help, connect, and be understood.

And still… presence can feel like indifference. Questions can feel like interrogation. "Me too" can feel like a hijack. Advice can arrive before someone feels heard.

The words may be familiar. The experience underneath them may not be shared.

Understanding is not agreement. Context is not permission. Capacity is an explanation, never an obligation.

Curiosity gives us somewhere better to begin than assuming our meaning was the only meaning available.

  1. 1.I make sense.
  2. 2.You make sense.
  3. 3.The gap makes sense.
  4. 4.We learn to reach each other.
  5. 5.I can choose what fits.

the architecture…

One body of work… different layers.

Validation Languages itself begins with three questions:

  • What reaches me?
  • How do I tend to give versus receive?
  • What capacity is available?

The larger body of work expands those questions through five connected rooms.

1

VALIDATION LANGUAGES

The map.

How do I know my experience actually landed on another human?

The six languages give words to something most people have felt but have never known how to ask for.

Explore the Six Languages
2

TRANSLATION

The practice.

Are we actually talking about the same thing?

People often believe they're talking about the same thing because they're using the same words. Translation begins by becoming curious about what those words actually mean to the other person… and what they mean in you.

3

CAPACITY

The condition.

Can either of us actually access what is needed right now?

Language helps explain the mismatch. Capacity helps explain the absence. The distinction between can't and won't changes how we respond… but it never requires us to remain unseen.

4

ALIGNMENT

The design question.

Do the relationships, work, leadership, environments and life I have built support who I actually am?

Understanding creates choice. Choice allows us to repair what fits, ask more clearly, set boundaries and stop building lives that require us to disappear.

5

THE SEEN EXPERIENCE

The embodiment.

The ideas leave the page.

People say the honest thing out loud. They hear how their intentions may be experienced by someone else. They practise the sentence that reaches someone. They experience what changes when another person receives them. This happens in teams, paired conversations, retreats, offsites, private immersions and one-on-one work.

Validation Languages, Translation, Capacity and Alignment are lenses inside the work.

The Seen Experience is how the work becomes real between people.

a question worth asking…

What if some of what we've been calling personality… is actually translation?

Not all of it. Humans are more complex than any single explanation.

But some of the conflict we keep calling incompatibility, attitude, sensitivity, disengagement or "that's just how they are" may be something simpler.

Two people assigning completely different meaning to the same behaviour.

Same words.
Different experience.

The map doesn't make every relationship work. It helps us see what is actually happening before we decide what happens next.

what being seen makes possible…

WITHIN YOURSELF

You make sense to yourself. You stop turning every need, reaction or pattern into proof that something is wrong with you. You can name what reaches you and ask for it before disappearing.

BETWEEN PEOPLE

People have a better chance of reaching one another. Misunderstanding becomes something that can be asked about. Repair becomes more possible because the mismatch finally has language.

INSIDE TEAMS

Leaders stop managing every human in the same language. Quiet burnout becomes visible sooner. Difficult conversations happen before they become expensive departures.

IN WHAT YOU BUILD

You can notice when a business, relationship, role or environment requires you to maintain a version of yourself that no longer feels true. Understanding becomes alignment.

where this becomes practical…

Start with the room you're actually in.

1 · WITHIN YOURSELF

You want the holy-shit moment first… language for something you've felt but haven't known how to explain.

Start with the quiz. Then read the full page for your primary language slowly. Notice what lands, what doesn't, what you give, what you have been hoping someone would infer, and what you may need to ask for out loud.

→ Find Your Validation Language

2 · BETWEEN TWO PEOPLE

You may both care and still keep reaching the same impasse. The same conversation keeps ending with both people feeling missed.

Take the quiz separately… without answering for each other. Compare your primary languages, how you tend to give, what changes when capacity is low, and the mismatch the results identify. Then begin with one question: "What reaches you that I may keep overlooking?"

This is not a promise that every relationship can or should be repaired. It is a better place to begin than guessing.

→ Start with two separate results

3 · INSIDE A TEAM

You are responsible for people… and generic recognition, another engagement survey or one more keynote is not getting underneath what is actually happening.

The work becomes a shared language, a map of the humans in the room, an honest look at capacity and agreements the team creates together.

→ Bring This to Your Team

4 · IN WHAT YOU'RE BUILDING

The business, role, brand or life may look right and still feel wrong.

This is where understanding becomes alignment… seeing what fits, what is being performed, what is being endured and what wants to become true now.

The point isn't to reduce people to six labels.

It's to become curious enough to see the human underneath the behaviour… including yourself.
